The next Assassin’s Creed title has had its release date revealed by Swiss online game retailer WOG. It seems the next game may be called Assassins Creed: Empire.
With the Assassin’s Creed reveal still to come, the retailer has started advertising the game for an October release date. While this could just be a placeholder, previous Assassin’s Creed titles have launched in October and November, so it would make sense.
The game is said to be a prequel to the Assassin’s Creed series, and stars a distant ancestor of original protagonist; Altair. Rumours suggest the game will be set in ancient Egypt.
The series has not seen a major game release since Assassins Creed: Syndicate back in 2015.
Ubisofts Open World stealth game took a well needed break last year, where many fans of the franchise believed the game was becoming to stale after a new game every year since its initial introduction all the way back in 2007.
It is of course plausible that this is just speculation on the retailer’s part, perhaps a bid to bring in pre-orders for the next Assassin’s Creed game.
