Red Dead Redemption 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the revered Wild West game from the makers of Grand Theft Auto, has been delayed to spring 2018, Rockstar Games announced today.
The characteristically tight-lipped company had gone dark since revealing the game’s existence last October and targeting fall 2017 as the initial release date for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. “We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready,” the developer wrote on its website. “We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.”
In making up for the bad news, Rockstar has deigned to provide the rabid masses with a few screenshots that it says are “from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.”
