The latest update being planned by Ubisoft Massive is hopefully going to be a big one. Titled update 1.7, It’s offering some major changes to the game (for free) on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
While The Division has been hit by criticism over the last year with how servers and multiplayer balancing has been run, the game continues to remain popular. Fans, like myself, have stuck with it. Seeing a slow evolution in how the gameplay has been maintained, through new updates and DLC drops.
While we don’t know everything about update 1.7, we have been informed about some key improvements. First of all, Global Events, Commendations and Classified Gear are the things that Ubisoft hope to deploy.
Global Events could prove the most popular, this will rollout a special event every four weeks that affects the open world. This will be on a global level and will put in place specific rules and criteria to challenge how players take on the game.
Completing missions during the event will earn players Global Event Tokens, which will be spent on Caches.
“Classified Gear was designed from the ground up to be something players could hunt for in the end game, while at max gear score without a negative impact on their existing gear,” Ubisoft explain. “All Classified Gear drops at gear score 256, regardless of World Tier. “We wanted to hit the check boxes mentioned above, while also preserving the value of your existing loadout while you hunt, and Classified Gear offers an opportunity to extend the stats of your build in a seamless flow.
Classified Gear will ALWAYS roll a higher value than the standard gear equivalent. Currently, gear in the max level drops with a main stat range of 1114-1272. Classified Gear, however, drops with main stat rolls within a higher range, 1273-1328.
“Meaning that even at the lower end of that range, a piece of Classified Gear is a guaranteed buff to your build. This increased range is an actual 35% buff to the available main stat ranges in game.”
Further down the line, The Division Update 1.8 is said to feature new Rogue mechanics along with new features and content. It is noted by many ETF members that if you are still an avid player of the game, and after more content, then 1.8 is the update for you. As a fan myself, im hoping 1.8 will not be a let down.
