Last month the best-selling game of 2017 was named as Grand Theft Auto V, which in itself is impressive for a 4 year old game. However the best-selling game that was actually released this year being the multi-format title Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
However that only takes into account retail sales, according to industry analyst Daniel Ahmad PUBG is now 2017’s best-selling game on any single platform.

His use of the phrase ‘single platform’ implies that Wildlands is more than likely the overall best-seller, when you take into account all its different platforms like Xbox One, PS4 & PC. But that’s still a huge achievement for a game that is only available on PC and is still in early access.
The popular battle royale game has now sold over 7 million copies, however its most impressive achievement so far has to be that it recently become the most played game on Steam, with a peak player count of 877,844 compared to 842,919 for Dota 2 – which is almost always number one by a large margin.
