It has been known for some time that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a new desert map, although publisher Bluehole has revealed very little details about it. However, fans now have a few new screenshots to look at.
PlayerUnknown himself, Brendan Greene, showed off the new images on Twitter yesterday. “The team at our office in Madison [Wisconsin] have been working hard on our new desert map,” the tweet states. Note that these are still “work-in-progress” images. You can take a look at the tweet & images below.

The new desert map still doesn’t have a release date; Greene has explained in the past the new map is still a long way off from release due to its size and complexity. New game mechanics like vaulting and climbing are also on the horizon for the popular battle royale game. PUBG’s release date on Xbox One is set for December 12.
