Loads of new Pokémon are coming to Pokèmon Go this week arriving from the Hoenn region – however, that’s not the only big change on the way.
Popular mobile AR game Pokémon Go will soon be aware of the real world weather around you, with a number of things in the game adapting. For example, if it’s raining outside, you’ll probably see more water Pokémon than normal. This change will also impact spawns of Pokémon from the previous generations too – not just the new Hoenn region monsters.
The timing of the new dynamic weather system isn’t much of a surprise: the Hoenn Pocket monsters first showed up in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire which, if you remember playing, were also the first games in the series to feature changing weather in-game.
Niantic stated in a recent blog post that while battling Gyms & Raids, attacks of certain types will be more effective during some weather conditions, so a Charizard’s Fire Spin will perform better on sunny days, for example.
Let us know in the comments bleow how excited you are for the next big Pokèmon Go update.
