Call of Duty: WW2 will be having a free, 1 month long community event ahead of the release of its Resistance DLC. The event hands players new weapons, a new division and plenty of XP boosts, however two time-limited game modes are the most interesting additions. During the event, you’ll be able to log on and play the fun party game Prop Hunt, where one team has to hide from the other by disguising themselves as background items in a map, like a table or a battered chair.
You can also play Demolition, the classic Call of Duty game mode that didn’t make it into CoD: WW2. One team has to blow up bomb sites while the other defends and diffuses any explosives the attackers manage to stick down. It’s a bit like Search and Destroy, except you can respawn. You’ll be able to jump into a Demolition 24/7 server for the duration of the event.
The new Resistance division comes with a new pistol, a tactical knife skill and the ability to scramble enemy maps. You can check out the trailer above.
The modes will be available during certain weeks of The Resistance event.
- Week 1: Jan 23 – Jan 29: Demolition w/ 2XP
- Week 2: Jan 30 – Feb 5: No Featured Playlist
- Week 3: Feb 6 – Feb 12: Prop Hunt 24/7
- Week 4: Feb 13 – Feb 19: Gun Game with (2XP, 2X Weapon XP, 2X Division XP)
- Week 5: Feb 20 – Feb 27: Prop Hunt w/ 2XP & Bomb Mosh Pit (Demolition and S&D) w/ 2XP
Keep in mind, this event is all free. The Resistance DLC, however, you’ll have to buy if you want to play the three new multiplayer maps, a new War Mode scenario and the next chapter of its Nazi zombies offshoot, named The Darkest Shore. That is coming to PS4 on January 30th. Usually a month later for Xbox One & PC Players
