Rockstar have confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on PS4 & Xbox One on October 26th, 2018. The announcement was made on the official Rockstar Games blog where they apologized for the delay.
The game was originally due out within Spring 2018, following an earlier delay from fall 2017. According to Rockstar, this new delay grants the studio extra time to improve the highly anticipated game.
“We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it.”
There’s still no word on a PC version yet. The first Red Dead Redemption was not released on PC, however Rockstar’s last major release, Grand Theft Auto V, did make its way to PC eventually.
We’re hoping this is the last delay this game receives. RDR 2 has a lot of hype to live up to, any more delays could see fans give up hope with the hotly anticipated title.
