The World War II first person shooter was originally scheduled for launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19. However publisher EA confirmed in a recent statement that the game will now release November 20. The company says the delay will give developer DICE additional development time to fine-tune the game as it sees fit.
The delay means the game will now be released after Red Dead Redemption 2 and arguably Battlefield’s biggest rival, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which launches on October 12.
“We’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of [new Battlefield live service] Tides of War,”
“We know moving the launch date means that we all have to wait a little longer. But we’re going to take our time to make sure we get it right.”
It’s not all bad news though, EA did confirm the upcoming Battlefield V open beta will go live on September 6 as planned.
