Classic edition of PlayStation 1 announced

Following in the successful footsteps of Nintendo who in the past few years have released a NES Classic Mini and a SNES Classic Mini; Sony has announced this morning that they will release the PlayStation Classic, a mini PS One which will come with 20 pre-loaded games and be released December 3.

PlayStation’s own tiny console will come pre-loaded with 20 games, for the time being they’ve only named 5.

These 5 are:

Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, Wild Arms, Jumping Flash and Ridge Racer Type 4.

“The original PlayStation was the first home console in video game history to ship 100 million units worldwide, offering consumers a chance to play games with real-time 3D rendered graphics in their homes for the first time,”

The miniature console is approximately 45% smaller than the original grey PlayStation console.

Like the Nintendo mini consoles, you’ll have a HDMI socket to ensure it works with modern day TV’s. You’ll also have two original controllers in the box.
