PlayStation ID name changes coming

Sony have just officially announced you’ll be able to change your PlayStation ID. A feature that has been available for Xbox users for as long as we can remember, is finally coming to PlayStation users.

If you’d like to change your PSN ID, it’ll be free the first time. However any subsequent changes will cost £7.99 after that or for PS Plus members it will be £3.99.

This feature will work with all PS4 games published after April 1, 2018 and a large number of “most-played” PS4 games released prior. The full roll out of the feature to all PS4 owners is planned for early 2019.

“When you change your online ID, you will have the option to display your previous ID with your new ID, so your friends can recognise you,” a post from the company reads. “Once you decide to display your old ID or not, you won’t be able to adjust this after completing the online ID change process.”

Time to say goodbye to that embarrassing ID you created when you were 13 and thought you were cool!

What will you change your name too?
