Minecraft On Switch Requires An Xbox Live Log-In

Minecraft On Switch Requires An Xbox Live Log-In
Minecraft is getting a big new update soon that unifies it across most platforms (except for PlayStation devices). As a result, Minecraft players on Nintendo Switch will be able to play with those on Xbox One or PC. One of the interesting consequences of this new, unified platform is that Nintendo Switch owners will have to log into Xbox Live to play the game online. The Head of Xbox Phil Spencer confirmed the news today while speaking on the Giant Bomb E3 2017 live show. In a discussion about cross-platform play, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Gerstmann asked about logging in, and Spencer replied that it’ll be the same system across all devices. “It’s an Xbox Live account; that’s our gaming social network,” he said. Spencer continued by saying “We use Xbox Live as the way to make sure we know who our players are, controls around parental controls and other things that we ...

Minecraft Plays a Prominent Role in New Japanese Commercial for Nintendo Switch
Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition recently landed on the Switch. This is truly a game which benefits from the portability that the Switch offers, making it perhaps the ultimate version of Minecraft to play on-the-go. Minecraft on Wii U was a big hit in Japan, with many Japanese gamers being introduced to the open world crafting game for the first time. Nintendo is wasting no time in pushing the delights of Minecraft on the Switch in the freshly-released commercial that you can see above. In the video four young kids are shown, each with their own individual Switch to play on – one day we’re sure they will be as ubiquitous as the 3DS given how quickly the Switch sells out when it comes back into stock. The video also showcases other multiplayer delights such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Ultra Street ...

Nintendo Switch EShop Adds Two More Games Today

Nintendo Switch EShop Adds Two More Games Today
Following the release of NBA Playgrounds earlier this week, two more digital games launch on the Nintendo Switch eShop today. Today’s big addition is Minecraft. Priced at £20, it features local and online multiplayer support as well as Mario-inspired skins, as you can see in the image gallery below. It launches in the UK tomorrow, May 12. The other release is another ACA Neo Geo game, Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Like many of the other ACA titles we’ve seen on Switch, it’s a 2D fighting game. This one was originally released in 1999 and features two-player multiplayer support. It’s available on the eShop now for £6.29, and you can check out some screenshots of it in the gallery above, alongside Minecraft. The eShop got a welcome upgrade recently, as it now allows users to store their ...

The Nintendo Switch has a big summer of games

The Nintendo Switch has a big summer of games
Nintendo spun through plenty of games by first- and third-party publishers during its Nintendo Direct on the 12th April, but the message was clear: There are a lot of games coming to the Switch in the next few months. The rapid-fire delivery included release dates for big titles that have already been demoed widely, like Arms, Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Chapter and Splatoon 2, but also titles Nintendo hasn’t said much about, like multiplayer title Project Mekuru. Here’s the list of every title we got release dates for from that Nintendo Direct, including some with the murky “summer” release window. Puyo Puyo Tetris: April 25 (with a demo out today) Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition: May 11 Disgaea 5 Complete: May 23 (demo coming soon) Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers: May 26 Arms: June 16 Splatoon 2: July 21 Fate/Estella: July 25 Sonic Mania: Summer Sine Mora X: Summer Project ...
