PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds sets record with 3 million simultaneous players
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds keeps smashing through milestones: following its Early Access exit, it’s hit three million concurrent players. That is an amazing accomplishment for a game that only recently exited beta. PlayerUnkown himself confirmed the achievement earlier today on his Twitter account, and Steam’s official stats page is also showing the peak players at 3,106,358. OVER 3 MILLION!! Thank you all for helping us reach this amazing milestone! GG WP everybody <3 pic.twitter.com/twUQkSkP5U — PLAYERUNKNOWN (@PLAYERUNKNOWN) December 29, 2017 How high can this number go? It seems this games popularity can never end. What’s the barrier this battle royale game can hit? 4 million? 5 million? 10 MILLION?! I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I’d be surprised if player numbers dropped anytime soon. Let us know in the comments below what you think of this amazing milestone.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds On Xbox One Hits 1 Million Players
Earlier last week Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds launched on Xbox One in the Game Preview program. The game has sold amazungly well. Playerunknown himself, Brendan Greene, said in a recent tweet that the game reached 1 million players on Xbox One after the first 48 hours. The game has had its issues on Xbox One, however, which isn’t surprising seeing as the game is in the ‘Game Preview’ section. Players can obviously expect continuous updates for PUBG to improve and expand on the game going forward. Over 1M players tried @PUBATTLEGROUNDS within 48hrs of launch on @Xbox Game Preview! This is humbling, so thank you all! It’s the start of the road on console for us. We‘ve lots to improve & update over the coming months & w/ your feedback we’ll make a great game together! — PLAYERUNKNOWN (@PLAYERUNKNOWN) December 15, 2017

PUBG Sequel Is Unlikely

PUBG Sequel Is Unlikely
Given the tremendous success of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, developer Bluehole is of course going to continue to support the game for a long long time. However, Playerunknown himself, Brendan Greene, said in a recent interview that a sequel to the biggest game on steam, is not coming anytime soon. Speaking to IGN, Greene was asked about the next five years of PUBG and if there will be a sequel. Greene responded with “Oh no,” . Instead, players can expect the developer Bluehole updating and refreshing the game with patches over time instead of making PUBG 2. “We’re building this game as a service,” Greene said. “We’ll still have the boxed copy that you buy … we still want to polish and refine. Add more maps, add more assets, and continually refine the gameplay and optimise as we go forward.” In addition, Greene confirmed ...

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is 2017’s best-selling single platform game
Last month the best-selling game of 2017 was named as Grand Theft Auto V, which in itself is impressive for a 4 year old game. However the best-selling game that was actually released this year being the multi-format title Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands. However that only takes into account retail sales, according to industry analyst Daniel Ahmad PUBG is now 2017’s best-selling game on any single platform. Fun Fact: PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is 2017's best selling game on any single platform. pic.twitter.com/K8KAXzo17p — Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) August 27, 2017 His use of the phrase ‘single platform’ implies that Wildlands is more than likely the overall best-seller, when you take into account all its different platforms like Xbox One, PS4 & PC. But that’s still a huge achievement for a game that is only available on PC and is still in early access. The popular battle ...
